    MCS Dial-up Service

    Outlook Express E-mail Configuration
    For your Madison County Schools e-mail account
    1. Open Outlook Express and click on the Tools menu and select the Accounts option.
    2. On the right side of the box that pops up you will see a button labeled Add, click this button and select Mail (this will start the account creation process).
    3. Next, begin the account setup wizard by entering your full name and clicking on the Next button.
    4. On the next screen you will be asked to enter your e-mail address. Enter yourusername@madison.k12.nc.us and then click Next. For example: jdoe@madison.k12.nc.us
    5. Make sure your incoming mail server is set for POP3 at the top. Then in the top field you will type in mail.madison.k12.nc.us for your incoming mail and you will also type mail.madison.k12.nc.us for your outgoing mail. When you have filled in both fields click Next.
    6. Finally, enter your account name and your password in their respective fields. Check the save password option if you do not wish to type in your password each time you check your e-mail. Click the Next button and then the Finish button and you are now ready to check your e-mail.
    7. To check your e-mail, once your are connected to the Internet, simply click on the Send/Receive button at the top. Outlook Express should normally automatically check your e-mail when you start the program.

    **You may also check your MCS e-mail from any computer on the Internet by going to http://www.madison.k12.nc.us:8003 within your web browser and logging in with your username and password.
